Overview
As part of a nationwide effort to combat the stigma surrounding mental health in Greece, Cinergies Co-Op was commissioned to produce the primary video for the “Stigma” campaign, which was prominently featured on World Mental Health Day 2021. The video, designed to convey the campaign’s core message of destigmatization, achieved widespread circulation and was broadcasted on public television. This project reflects our commitment to supporting public health initiatives through impactful and emotionally resonant media.

Objectives:
The “Stigma” campaign, deployed by the ΕΚΨ Π. Σακελλαρόπουλος organization, sought to challenge and change societal perceptions of mental health issues. Cinergies Co-Op’s role was to produce a video that would serve as the campaign’s main communication tool, effectively conveying the message that mental health issues should not define or limit individuals.
– Raise Public Awareness: The video aimed to increase awareness about the detrimental effects of mental health stigma.
– Promote Positive Change: Encourage the public and communication professionals to reevaluate and alter their perceptions of mental health.

Methodology:
Given the sensitive nature of the subject matter, Cinergies Co-Op worked closely with the campaign organizer Antonis Bougias to ensure the video effectively communicated the intended message. The provided script was translated into a visually compelling narrative, utilizing symbolism to depict the social and personal impacts of stigma.
– Production Process: Filming took place at COLAB House in Chalandri, with a professional crew managing all aspects of production from direction to cinematography.
–Creative Execution: The video used a combination of narrative storytelling and visual metaphors to illustrate the burden of stigma and the liberation that comes from breaking free from societal labels.
–Post-Production: The final video included refined editing, sound design, and graphics to enhance the overall impact and ensure the message was delivered powerfully.

The “Stigma” video successfully fulfilled its role as the centerpiece of the campaign, drawing significant attention and fostering discussion on mental health in Greece. Its impact was amplified through various media outlets, contributing to a broader shift in public perception.
